Neighbor Nest Hub

Cookie Policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on neighbornesthub.com, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. It lets a site remember something between page loads, such as a preference you set. Similar technologies, including local storage, sessionStorage, and pixel-image beacons, do comparable things and are covered by this policy.

Cookie categories on this site

Strictly necessary (always on)

These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off in our banner. They include:

  • nn_consent. records your own cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page. Set only after you make a choice. Persists for six months.
  • A short-lived session token used by the contact form to guard against automated submissions. Set only when you interact with the form.

Analytics (opt-in)

Set only if you allow analytics in the consent banner. We use Google Analytics to understand which guides get read and where readers arrive from. Google Analytics may set the following:

  • _ga and _ga_<id>. distinguishes unique visitors and stores session-level analytics data. Persists up to two years.

These help us see aggregate reading patterns. They are not used to identify you by name.

Advertising (opt-in)

Set only if you allow advertising in the consent banner. We intend to display advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set the following cookies for ad measurement and, where you allow it, ad personalization:

  • _gcl_au. used by Google conversion tracking to measure ad performance.
  • IDE, DSID, NID. set by Google’s ad-serving domains for ad delivery and frequency capping.
  • The DoubleClick cookie (now branded as Google Ad Manager) may be set as part of ad delivery.

Advertising cookies are only set where you have allowed them, and are cleared when your browser session ends unless the specific cookie has a longer stated lifetime.

Your choices

When you first visit, you are asked whether to allow analytics and advertising cookies. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies is set until you choose. You can change your answer at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the site footer; that reopens the banner and lets you revise category by category.

Choosing to decline both categories does not reduce your access to anything on this site. Guides remain fully readable.

Additional opt-out and management tools

You can also manage advertising cookies and personalization directly through the following official tools:

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings directly. Note that clearing cookies will also clear your recorded consent choice, and the banner will ask you again on your next visit.
